Charitable Works
Charitable Giving
A proportion of the money that is given to our church each year is set aside for Charitable Giving. A good deal of care is taken in selecting which charities we would like to support. This year, the following charities are receiving a donation from us:
a) U.S.P.G. (In particular to support the work of Richard Owen (who has links with the Parish) in Trinidad and Tobago)
b) Christian Community Ministries (India)
c) House of Hope Haven (for AIDS sufferers) in South Africa
e) Lymm Wednesday Afternoon Group WAGS (formerly Lymm Housebound)
f) Mustard Tree project (Manchester)
g) Harpurhey Missionary project (Mission Aid)
Fair Trade
Once a month, after the Parish Communion service, a stall sells Fair Trade produce to parishioners.
Christian Aid
We firmly believe in the work of Christian Aid and play a highly active role in Christian Aid Week each year.
Action Aid
The children of our Sunday School and Sunday Club are sponsors of a child through Action Aid.
Children’s Society
We are pleased to support the work of the Children’s Society and we hold a Christingle Service each year as a fundraising activity in order that we can provide some financial support to the charity.
